Read what some of our guests had to say.............

As well as Hafren Forest and the source of the Severn, we liked Ynyslas beach (wild and dog friendly, but watch the tide times).  We also liked the route around the reservoir past the sailing club and the quirkiness of Llanidloes (but not the Bistro that time forgot).  We liked Hereford (every bit the County town) and Aberystwyth (old fashioned but with a great Spanish deli - n.b. the limited opening times) but not Leominster or Hay-on Wye (both too small and the latter a bit pretentious and touristy). Overall, we loved what Powys has to offer, which I would sum up as a quite wholesomeness.

We stayed for 3 nights and found the cottage was very warm and homely and is in the most beautiful part of Wales with so much to do it will definitely keep you occupied or if preferred, totally relax you with the beautiful scenery all around. Carla, Adam, their kids and Guinness the dog are all so welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. We will definitely be going back again soon! I would 100% recommend this cottage to anyone without doubt.

This was a real find- Delightful hosts, wonderful setting, cute converted barn "cottage" with contemporary feel and a little woodburning stove. We had a long walk in their woods and across fields then a lazy lunch in the garden, watching the hosts' children playing with the chickens, the stream and sticks.Magical.Thank you so much Carla and Adam- see you soon.

We had a lovely warm welcome from Carla and her family when we arrived. We had some bikes on the roof rack and Adam very kindly unhooked them all and took them to the barn. The cottage was warm and welcoming, with a lovely vase of flowers and a delicious bara brith loaf waiting for us. Everything was lovely and clean and fresh. The area is very quiet and most of the time the only sound was birds and the water running in the little brook at the front of the cottage. Our two girls found the rope and tyre swing up the hill and would spend hours up there or on the trampoline in the garden. There are two very vocal pigs who love scraps and the chickens who come running when food is on the go. A very relaxing and restful half term break. Would most certainly visit again.

We spent two nights in Carla and Adam's farm and we absolutely loved it ! The cottage was warm, clean, and Carla even baked us a fruit loaf that we were pleased to find in the kitchen on arrival. In the evening we enjoyed an apéritif on one of the picnic tables in the field, with the company of all the hens and Jason the cockerel. We would highly recommend this place and would be glad to come back for a longer stay ! Thanks et à bientôt !!!

This is a great get away for myself and my family. My little boy Sonny did not want to leave. Carla and her family were lovely, even the dog Guinesswas a fantastic host by taking me and my son for a walk around the grounds. Loved our where we stayed, and the simple touches of cotton sheets, and log fire fantastic. Would recommend this beautiful place all year round. Waking up hearing the stream outside and the birds singing was bliss. Thanks for being great hosts and looking after us so well.

I spent the most wonderful weekend with my extended family here celebrating my 50th birthday - it was incredible. The cottages are idyllic, the setting beautiful, and our hosts extremely hospitable. We are already planning a return journey which will hopefully become an annual event

What a wonderful hideaway hosted by a wonderful family. The cottage itself was the perfect mix of modern updates and classic roots, and it sat on the end of a row of what appear to all be lovely cottages in their own right. The surroundings were beautiful and tranquil, making you feel miles from the main road and ages from the bustle of the city you left behind. At the same time, it was nice talking with Carla, Adam, and their kids, who have been city folk until recently themselves, so they are certainly in touch with the needs and sensibilities of the people that are seeking a getaway of this sort. In addition to the warm welcome from the family (to include Adam's excellent Welsh fruitcake), we enjoyed walking around with the chickens, and we loved getting to meet Guinness. Our daughter in particular was enamored, and despite some jitters when Guinness got up close, she was ultimately sad to leave such a sweet and friendly dog. All in all, this was a great base from which to explore much of Wales, but we wish we had budgeted more time just to relax around the cottages. We'll hope to be back to "Llani" soon!

!It was nice staying at 'Family Cottage'. We all loved it and especially the kids. The hospitality by Adam, Carla and the whole family (oh and not to miss out Guinness, the friendly dog) was very good. We definitely look forward to stay again at 'Family Cottage' in future.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage; the cottage was very comfortable (wifi!) and cosy (fireplace!) for a family and the surroundings were great. We enjoyed walking around the nearby forest and stream; and our daughters were happy to roam around freely, playing with the loving family dog and feeding the pigs. The location was great to visit lovely towns, nature and beaches of mid-wales to make a perfect short break. Thank you Carla and your family for the wonderful hospitality, we definitely recommend this cottage and we hope to visit you again in the future.
